You may also use a rotary polisher for best results. So today we are sharing some tips which should be take care while buffing a car painted surface.

Wash and Clean Your Car

Whether you think your car already looks clean, it is best and safer to make sure that it is really clean and ready to be buffed. Wash your car first, remove all dirt stains with soap and rinse with water. In addition, remove all tar stains on the lower parts of your vehicle using your tar remover of choice with just the right amount, of course. To make the washing and cleaning process faster and more efficient, use a power washer if there is one available at hand. This first step is advised as dirt from your vehicle may soon create more scratches or damage to your car while the buffing process is taking place.

Pads and Waxes

Make sure you purchase or obtain the right pads for the job. In polishing your car, as we all know, the technique that you will be using would greatly affect the outcome of the polishing job. For high-quality finishes, the best buffers and pads may be obtained and may take a little bit more off your budget as well as for polishers and waxes. Having a white or pearl white vehicle, you need to purchase a wax and polisher that will keep it sparkling white as a finish.

Important Tips

It is very important that you do not want to burn the paint. As advised by experts, you may first want to try buffing a detached part or a piece of scrap metal first before starting with your ride. Always keep the face of the buffer flat on the painted body surfaces. Be careful around the edges and corners. That is where most beginners make a mistake of burning off the finish. Do not operate it at an angle. Start from the roof of your vehicle working your way to the bottom. In certain circumstances, a small alteration on the applied process would completely change the finish or outcome of your work. A trial-and-error process will be done here. Be patient and you would eventually get your desired results at the end of the day.

Although we all think that polishing a vehicle is quite easy, below are a few pointers to aid you in the proper process so that you will attain your desired results.

Rubbing Compounds: Consider using a rubbing compound first before waxing if you would see some evident damages on your vehicles paint.

Wax Application: Do not put too much during the first application on your vehicle. Utilize the 4” Applicator Pad. Check and verify with professionals on the products that are advisable for your ride. Using paced motions, move up to down and side to side. Keep in mind that the pad should always be leveled on the paint surface.

Never Dry Buff: In order to attain optimum results, constantly work on the polish. Be sure the polish dries appropriately. If you want your car to look gleaming and radiant, it is always better to use a dedicated polisher or buffer. Try Solitaire Ceramics Industrial Heavy Duty Polishers.

Persistent Polishing: Continue performing the polishing process. Always remember, keep the cord over your shoulder for it be kept away from the paint. You do not want to have any scratches or damages on the paint surface while you work. In addition, make sure to always use the correct speed combinations, the correct pad and polish. If unsure, refer to professional advice. Apply continuous pressure while working the polish. Not too much though as excessive pressure may damage your vehicles paint. Avoid lifting the polisher off the paint while it is still turned on.

Keep in mind that all buffers, waxes, and car paint surfaces are different. If you still looking someone to do this job for you the Solitaire Ceramics Team is there for you.
